Rathlin Island

We've been fishing since early morning
Since the sun first came on the sea
We've fine catch of life and glassing
Six wee codlings for friday tea

Sailing southward from rathlin island
Past fair head on the murloch bay
With the northwind to drive us onward
What care we for the wind and spray

I'ts the life for a man of freedom
With a full boat and trusty crew
With the seas for his rillam kingdom
And the wild seals and gannet too

Sailing southward from rathlin island
Past fair head on the murloch bay
With the northwind to drive us onward
What care we for the wind and spray

We'll be home before the evening surely
Sailing south on the flowing tide
We'll be met there at henry andais
There'll be a pint or two in mc brides

Sailing southward from rathlin island
Past fair head on the murloch bay
With the northwind to drive us onward
What care we for the wind and spray
